Number Of Libraries

Hi Kit,
I am planning to install some software on a 5.3 iSeries which is a German outsourced box. I will be charged for the use of this box on a yearly basis part of that charge relates to the number of libraries I create..

I would like to re-compile all of the software using your CM and XRef software - can you tell me how many libraries the install will create.

Hi Kev

ChangefIT uses 6 libraries (one of which is created when the first Task is promoted).
XRefit uses only 1.

During installation a temporaray library is used and is deleted afterwards. (This library is used in the upgrade process only.)

A temp library is also created during the promotion/check-in phase. This library has a dynamic name (see page 39 of the manual) and is deleted after promotion - if there are no objects in it.

ChangefIT also creates a directory in IFS with a sub-directory for each Project.
